diode Among electronic components, a device with two electrodes, its greatest characteristic is unidirectional conduction, and many uses are to apply its rectification function. That is, current can only flow from one direction of the diode (called forward bias), and it is blocked in the reverse direction (called reverse bias). Therefore, diodes can be thought of as electronic versions of check valves.
